Synopsis Prior to the Catastrophe Shiroe as a child As a child, Shiroe found it difficult to make friends, and oftentimes went to the library rather than hang out with other people. His parents were rarely home due to work, and he grew up resenting them for that, although he later came to regret the way he had been inconsiderate towards them.

During some point in middle school, Shiroe had a crush on a girl in his class. However, shortly after the school trip, he was rejected, and constantly muttered "I'm too boring. Four years prior to the main storyline, he became a member of the Debauchery Tea Party until its disbandment two years later.

He was the capable "bus guide" who was always pushed into making Kanami's wild and unreasonable requests into reality. Although joining the Debauchery Tea Party helped him with play with others, he still found himself distrustful of guilds, preferring to act as a mercenary during raids after the group disbanded.

For example, he helped the Black Sword Knightsgaining the favor of Isaac despite rejecting a request to join the guild. According to Naotsugutheir first offline meeting entailed a thirty-minute lecture on the difference between black and oolong tea, which then moved on to Taiwanese politics, the EU, and the economy of tea.

The two of them lived an hour's bike ride apart, and were often among the five Tea Party members pulled along to various events by Kanami.

Along with being a member of the Debauchery Tea Party, Shiroe was also well-known among players for his contributions to the Elder Tale community.

He often frequented foreign boards and forums to find out information, and ran a blog or guide called "Shiro Log. When the pack was released, his screen filled with jet black darkness, and when he regained consciousness, he was no longer at his desk but rather appeared to be inside the in-game city of Akiba. While journeying up to Susukino, he reveals that his offer is more out of his growing spite for Akiba's situation and a desire to get away rather than pure goodwill. Round Table Alliance arc Upon returning to Akiba, he learns after the return celebration about the way Akiba's situation had turned in the weeks that they were gone.

Disgusted that large guilds were taking everything for themselves, with the lingering sensation of despair among the general populace, and by Hamelin's actions, Shiroe takes some time to think over his course of action.

After talking with Nyanta, he decides to start his own guild to start working change in the city. Conference of the Lords arc Return of the Goblin King arc While attending the Conference of Lords with others of the Round Table Alliance, Shiroe learns of an army of thousands of Goblins moving to attack the cities of Eastal and the attack on the Adventurers Training camp at Choushi by approximately a thousand Sahuagin.

When Elder Tale was a game, the Return of the Goblin King event never grew to this scale because the Adventurers mostly prevented it from happening by destroying his minions, thus weakening the Goblin King's Forces and making it easier to slay him.

Success in the quest rewarded players with gold and rare items. It was considered an easy Intermediate-Level quest making it a popular event enjoyed by players. However, after the Catastrophe, the players were more concerned with making the world more livable and leveling up their skills. As a result, they didn't accept quests from Landers, and the Goblin King event was neglected.

Unfortunately, this made the Goblin King and his armies more powerful than ever in the history of Elder Tale. Furthermore, the fact that the number of monsters grew to this number meant that something was amiss with the Izumo Knightspowerful Landers called Ancients who would help defend the land in case the Adventurers were not up to the task. Usually, if the minions weren't cleared in time, the Izumo Knights would step in and help reign in the monsters. However, it did not happen, resulting in a huge amount of monsters.

The Round Table Alliance leaders concluded that with the Izumo Knights missing, the Eastal Lords would try to manipulate them into sending an army to eliminate the goblin threat. He developed a new form of spell that did not exist before in the original Elder Tales game, creating a magical contract with Lander Rundelhous Code to save his life. Despite trying to keep it under wraps, both Li Gan and Nureha end up finding out about it.

Libra Festival arc During the Libra festival, Shiroe is busy with paperwork when Minori and Akatsuki lead him out of the cake contest.

Later on, he realizes that they are under attack by someone trying to undermine the Round Table conference and takes measures to counter the attempt. It is after these events he meets with Nureha, who offers him a chance to join her, but he refuses as it would make everything they had done to this point a lie. However, after taking part in the Akiba Raid Partyduring which she learned an Overskill and defeated Enbart NellesAkatsuki regains her confidence back, and starts to view her short stature as an asset rather than a hindrance.

Synopsis Prior to the Catastrophe Akatsuki in the real world. Akatsuki was always smaller than normal and often mistaken for being much younger than she really was. She was so short that her younger sister, Hibikireferred to her as the younger sister. At one point, a middle school boy in her neighborhood thought that she was his age she was in college and confessed to her, an incident that left her bedridden for several days out of despair, and it is implied that pedophiles have also targeted her in the past.

To make up for her height, Akatsuki took up kendo to gain more self-confidence. She also raised a dog named Myojo.

When Akatsuki was entering college, Hibiki's advice was to become a pet groomer, since she's bad at talking and works better with her hands. She was usually a solo player who would only party up for specific quests. It was during these times that she became acquainted with Shiroe, who never suspected that she was a girl.

The Catastrophe arc Akatsuki's appearance after using the potion After being trapped in the world of Theldesia, she quickly realizes that her male avatar was only going to be a hindrance.

However, unwilling to expose herself as a female player out of fear of harassment, she instead bode her time in an abandoned building while trying to figure out what to do.

Around five days after the Catastropheshe sees Shiroe pass by and remembers that he owned an Appearance Reset Potion. After hailing him and Naotsugu down, she finally musters the courage to ask for the potion, shocking both of the men.

After she takes the potion, the three of them discuss the situation after the Catastrophe. For the convenience of all three of them, Shiroe proposes that Akatsuki join them, which she agrees to—on the basis that she treats him as her Lord. To steel themselves for fighting, the trio regularly visit the Archive Tower Foresta map filled with monsters that attack on sight.

During this time, Akatsuki remains hidden, biding her time until the enemy dropped their guard so she could take out their healers. However, witnessing Nyanta, Shiroe, and Naotsugu's cohesive teamwork, without even having to speak to each other, causes Akatsuki to doubt her own abilities. Round Table Alliance arc Upon the group's return to Akiba, Shiroe finds the resolve to throw away his history with guilds so that he could start his own, which he calls Log Horizon.

Akatsuki, Naotsugu, and Nyanta are its first three members, and they launch their "campaign" to revitalize Akiba in conjunction with the Crescent Moon Alliance. For the most part, Akatsuki spends her time in reconnaissance, keeping tabs on the Hamelin members and capturing their names so that Shiroe could later blacklist them on the day of the Round Table Conference.

On the day of the conference itself, Akatsuki is kept on guard to make sure that the kids in Hamelin were successfully retrieved. However, she misses Shredderso he is able to access the main guild hall while the rest of his compatriots could not. When Minori and Tohya are attacked by the furious man, Akatsuki comes to their rescue, gracefully kneeing the man and freeing Tohya. When he grabs her by the collar and demands to know where she is, she simply calls Shiroe and asks him to blacklist him, adding insult to injury by saying that Shredder's face matched his name.

With that, he is kicked out of the building and lands outside, where Naotsugu and several other companions were waiting for him. Summer Training arc Akatsuki is present when Maryelle throws a fit over going to the beach. After Shiroe finds a resolution, she is seen cowering from Henrietta inside Log Horizon's guild house, as the latter had prepared a summer dress for her to wear. When Serara talks to Nyanta, both she and Naotsugu listen intently for Serara's reaction. When a messenger from Eastal arrives, however, and Shiroe is selected as one of the representatives to go to the Ancient Palace of Eternal IceAkatsuki decides to accompany him there.

Much to both of their distaste, Henrietta tags along to "observe, "definitely not" to force Akatsuki into the aforementioned dress. Akatsuki ends up wearing said dress at the ball held by the Lander nobles, and shyly asks Shiroe if she looked strange. Much to her shock, she learns from guild master Tatara that the sword which she wanted, on top of being too expensive for her, was already sold to someone else.

Akatsuki & Shiroe Relations – Comparing anime and light novels

Faced with the reality that she was still only a second-class Assassin, she goes off to a forest and observes members of the Black Sword Knights train together, wallowing in her misery over her own incompetence. After putting it off for too long, I picked it up earlier this year. I don't want to go into too much detail, just because I made a review on this manga, which you can read here. I will just say that after I finished this manga, I knew that manga was the way forward for me.

Now that I've given you an insight into my journey into manga, I'll let you know what my specific reasons for preferring manga over anime are. When it comes to any form of media or entertainment, I feel that experiencing it in the way which the author or original creator intended is more than likely to be the best experience on offer.

If you want an example of this outside of anime and manga, read what comes next. I, however, do not want a remake of either game. Because 'Kojima Productions' and Hideo Kojima himself the creator of the series being Kojima, and his team being Kojima Productions are no longer with 'Konami', meaning that the remakes would be made without them. I probably wouldn't even play them.

I know that there exist anime which are considered to be better than their anime counterpart, but I honestly believe that reading manga is respectful, for lack of a better term.

If you still can't see where I'm coming from, then just think about it like this. Even if an anime is a perfect adaptation of a manga, it's still somebody else's version of the series which they adapted. For example, in the 'Grappler Baki' anime, Baki is a lot less cheerful when compared to his manga counterpart.

Of course, this means that the adaptation isn't perfect, but even if it were which most series aren'tit would still be somebody else's version. Wouldn't you rather experience the original version than somebody else's?

Since manga is usually the original, it is usually the way which a series was intended to be. Sometimes, I don't want something to be moving really quickly, so I'll read slower on purpose. Say, for example, when a new chapter of 'Hajime no Ippo' releases. If that chapter were animated, it would probably last about six or seven minutes, but I don't want the experience to last only six or seven minutes. I want it to last for fifteen, maybe even twenty minutes, so I take the time to soak in the art and what it is that I'm actually reading.

On top of how long a scene lasts, anime episodes have a predetermined length, which is usually about twenty-three minutes.
